The second season of ‘The Mandalorian’ is going to directly tie in to ‘The Rise of Skywalker.’ At least, that is the rumor.
For those who haven’t seen the newest ‘Star Wars,’ sorry in advance, there will be spoilers. According to ‘We Got This Covered,’ which gets a lot of shit for possible misinformation, here is what they say is on the horizon:
“From what we understand, Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon will be unveiled as the one behind Palpatine’s resurrection. The show’s big bad was already established in season 1 to have been a loyal Imperial officer, with Gideon now commanding his own remnant of the Empire’s Stormtrooper army. According to our intel, Gideon will soon come across Palpatine’s body somehow and conduct experiments on it concerning both the Force and cloning. The specifics are still a bit unclear, but this is apparently what will bring Darth Sidious back to life, teeing up his role in the Sequel Trilogy.”
If that’s true, “Gus Fring” from ‘Breaking Bad’ is to blame for all of this with Palpatine. It’s almost as if the ‘Star Wars’ franchise is using Disney+ shows to backtrack on some of the mistakes they made during the feature film. Hopefully, they aren’t morphing the story because of how terribly received that ‘Rise of Skywalker’ got, since ‘The Mandalorian’ is the only thing that LucasFilm/Disney has done right this year, but time will tell if any of those rumors are true.
