Are you a rock band in the Metro Detroit area? Looking for some new local musicians to support? Then you are invited to the newly refreshed Motor City Riffs on 101.1 WRIF! Each week at 9 PM on Sunday, hosts Screamin’ Scott and Chuck Bean will give you a rundown of what’s going on in local music, and play tracks from the bands that drive the Motor City, past, present, and future!
The unique thing about this show being revived is the fact that it’s hard for rock bands to get exposure, especially during the pandemic. Having a show that is content-driven to play local music alongside bands like The White Stripes, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, and more gives these bands an opportunity to be heard, and to promote the local scene as a whole.
Another great thing about Motor City Riffs is that the hosts make it unique to any other local music show. Both Chuck Bean and Screamin’ Scott are Veterans of the Detroit Rock City music scene. As band members of various bands over the years, including CHIT! (Screamin’ Scott) and DRIZZLE (Chuck Bean), they know what it’s like to be a musician, the grind that comes with it, and the respect that the craft rightfully deserves. Having these two guys at the helm creates a romanticism about the gig, and the bands the show puts on, that no other show can match.
If you are a ROCK BAND interesting in submitting your tracks, please follow the steps:
- Draft up a sentence or two about your band, list your members, list the contact for the band, and if you have any upcoming shows to promote.
- Provide clean, radio-friendly tracks (back mask or remove your swear words, people!) or provide lyrics to the songs you are sending.
- Provide your social media handles for promotion.
- Send up to 2 mp3’s per band to email@example.com. Please send the files themselves. DO NOT send Dropbox, Google, Soundcloud, or Bandcamp Links.
Be sure to follow Motor City Riffs on Facebook, and be sure to reach out, show support, and share the bands that keep our scene alive!
