In a time where media is “whatever gets clicks,” let’s have a chat about inconsistency in regards to Eminem’s Oscars performance that just happened within the last hour.
Almost immediately, Complex, Vice, and Consequence of Sound wanted to pull the “Nobody knows why Eminem is performing ‘Lose Yourself’ at The Oscars,” to zooming in on the faces of people in the audience like Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, Martin Scorsese, and who seems to be everyone’s feature favorite, Idina Menzel.
But – here’s the fun part: if those people weren’t into it, they didn’t show it when it came to their standing ovation.
Moral of the story, kids. Keep an eye out on your clickbait headlines, and don’t believe everything that you read.
I mean, you picked someone who seems to always have resting bitch face (Sorry, Billie Eilish), Martin Scorsese – he hates everything, and Idina Menzel, a children’s character voice / classical singer.
CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND
Even if these weren’t “opportunistic” screen captures, the bullshit runneth over when it’s noted that Eminem got a standing ovation for his performance, and, just for some added tea, note the fact that he won an Oscar for “Lose Yourself” in 2003, and they were highlighting performances such as these throughout the night.

🎶 You better lose yourself in the music, the moment You own it, you better never let it go You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime 🎶 Standing ovation! 👏 15-time GRAMMY winner @Eminem gave a surprise performance at the #Oscars of his Oscar and GRAMMY-winning song “Lose Yourself” that had everyone nodding.
Let’s face it – I think maybe there would have been more reactions if Slim Shady would have performed his political track “Darkness” – but alas, everyone will always make garbage out of a shit hill.
