Last year, Dropkick Murphys joined us on our screens and televisions in order to soften the blow that the Pandemic had just begun. Well, we’ve reached a full year in Pandemic come March 17, 2021, so the boys are back, but they’re looking for a live stream (instead of trouble). Considering the success of last year’s stream, they decided to give it another go, live from Boston, Massachusetts!
The band had this to say on their site for the stream, DKMstream.com:
“For the second year in a row, we’ll be playing a March 17 show in Boston…beamed right into your living room!!
ST. PATRICKS DAY LIVE STREAM 2021…STILL LOCKED DOWN will be FREE thanks to our friends at Boston tech company and Presenting Sponsor PEGA… This year, the stream will also be sponsored by YOU!!
That’s right, instead of charging for the stream, we’ll be passing the virtual hat to all our loyal fans around the world… So if you wanna kick in to help us continue paying our crew and expenses, you can drop a coin in the hat….
You’ll be able to watch the stream FREE and donate at right here and on DKMSTREAM.com.
You can donate ANY TIME starting NOW. We’ve made it easy – use the form below this text, or you can just text message DROPKICK to 202-858-1233. No matter how you do it, you can use Venmo, Google Pay, Apple Pay or credit card.
Here’s the worldwide air times:
4pm SAN FRANCISCO
TELL YOUR FRIENDS !! THE SHOW MUST GO ON…
We’re looking forward to getting off our couches to play a show for YOU!!
According to Folknrock.com, “The fans who donate in advance during the stream will see their names being scrolled across a ticker at the bottom during the ‘Still locked Down’ show. The setlist will feature a variety of fan favorites, as well as some select songs for the bands new upcoming studio album, which is due out soon.”
If you would like to donate not using the text functionality, you can go to DKMstream.com and donate there to help the guys put on another phenomenal stream, as well as contribute to their continuing charity initiatives (the guys of Dropkick Murphys are always making sure to give back to the community in whatever way they can and with these live streams, they donate a portion of the proceeds, or sometimes all of the proceeds to a cause they find important).
The last time they did this, I lit up a J, stood in my living room and partied by myself, and had a phenomenal time! And since many of us are still in a form of quarantine or limited capacity in public spaces, I highly suggest that you do the same! There’s nothing worse than trying to party for St. Patrick’s Day and end up sick, so grab some beer and green food coloring (or, for the stoners, green cannabis), make some mashed potatoes, crank it up to 11, take selfies / TikToks of your “St. Patty’s Day” outfit, and party responsibly!
